Never Healing, This Bank in Bandung Closed OJK

Jakarta, CNBC IndonesiaFinancial Services Authority (OJK) decided to revoke the business license of the Brata Nusantara Rural Bank (BPR) located in Bandung Regency. This decision will take effect from September 30, 2020.

The reason for the revocation of the license was that the management and shareholders of BPR Brata Nusantara were unable to carry out the restructuring efforts requested by OJK to leave the status of BPR Under Special Supervision (BDPK).

“BPR Brata Nusantara since 6 July 2020 has been stipulated in the BDPK because the Minimum Capital Adequacy Requirement (KPMM) ratio is under the applicable OJK provisions, which is a minimum of 12 percent,” said Head of OJK Regional 2 West Java, Triana Gunawan in a press statement, Wednesday (30 / 9/2020).

According to the OJK, the condition of the bank’s CAR is below 12% due to weakness in management by the management of BPR Brata Nusantara who does not pay attention to the principles of prudence and fulfillment of sound banking principles.

With the revocation of PT BPR Brata Nusantara’s business license, LPS will then carry out an underwriting function and carry out a liquidation process in accordance with Law Number 24 of 2004 concerning Deposit Insurance Corporation as amended by Law Number 7 of 2009.

“OJK urges customers of PT Bank Perkreditan Rakyat Brata Nusantara to remain calm because public funds in banks, including rural banks, are guaranteed by LPS in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Triana Gunawan.
