Never Happened, Earth’s Atmosphere Generates Space Storms

JAKARTAThe researchers find evidence phenomenon previously unobserved, namely, the massive mass of plasma swirling over the arctic region Earth . The “space storm”, as the science team called it, spun for hours, instead of raining down on the water, it rained electrons down on Bumo. “Until now, it was not certain that outer space plasma storms even existed, so proving this with striking observations is extraordinary,” said Mike Lockwood, a space scientist at the University of Reading in the UK. clickorlando.com.

The disturbance, captured in satellite data from 2014, resembles and behaves like a hurricane on Earth. But this whirling storm is a swirling plasma 1,000 km wide, hovering several hundred kilometers above the North Pole.

The space storm rotates counterclockwise, has several spiral arms, and lasts nearly eight hours before gradually disintegrating.

“Unlike geomagnetic storms that originate from strong solar activity and variations in the solar wind, these events occur during periods of low solar and geomagnetic activity,” explains Mike Lockwood.

“Storms provide immense energy and momentum deposition into the ionosphere even in very calm conditions,” the team wrote in their paper published in Nature Communications.

Described by the team, observations and simulations reveal that space storms are generated by stable high-latitude lobe magnetic reconnection and continuity of currents over a period of several hours from the interplanetary magnetic field to the north, as well as the very low density and speed of solar winds.

However, Lockwood said, these space storms must be created by the enormous and rapid transfer of solar wind energy and charged particles to the Earth’s upper atmosphere.

Astronomers have seen storms on Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter, which are similar to land storms in the lower atmosphere. There are also “solar tornadoes” – solar gases swirling in terrifying formations deep in the Sun’s atmosphere, which can reach several Earth radii.

But space storms like the one in 2014 have not been reported to occur in the upper atmospheres of other planets in our Solar System. And although auroral vortex structures, called auroral spirals, have been observed above Earth, they are not very strong and do not have the characteristics of a typical hurricane.

It is not yet known whether this space storm in the future will be dangerous or not for Earth’s inhabitants. Also read: 2021 NBA All Star Party: LeBron Team Crushed Team Durant, Antetokounmpo Seized MVP
