This ambitious project was born out of a partnership between the Queens Museum, Delta Air Lines, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and New York Governor Kathy Hochul. He will celebrate “Queens as the most diverse county in the United States”through works reflecting the history of immigration in the regionselon Kathy Hochul.
They are made by New York artists Rashid Johnson, Aliza Nisenbaum, Virginia Overton, Fred Wilson, Ronny Quevedo and Mariam Ghani. Travelers passing through LaGuardia Airport will be able to admire sculptures, paintings but also ceramic frescoes. They will be exhibited in the spring in terminal C, also known as that of Delta Air Lines.
For Ryan Marzullo, general manager at Delta Air Lines, this artistic project illustrates the desire of the airline, and more generally of LaGuardia, to best support its users. “In Delta’s new Terminal C, we will showcase the unique perspectives of this amazing city, its people and its culture, to enhance our customers’ journey every step of the way,” he said in a statement. .
