The connoisseur meeting had to pause twice in its long history, once the idea seemed almost over, but in the end the idea was so good that it lasted all that event . Now Neuss Marketing is celebrating “25 years of connoisseur meeting” – and the connoisseur is more lively than ever.
With 33 participating suppliers from Neuss and the surrounding area, Lena Wittig, who is organizing the event for the first time at Neuss Marketing, can even report a registered participation. She gave an overview of what they offer on Thursday, January 30, from 6pm in the town hall on Friday in the Dorinthotel. As we all know, you can get mice with bacon – and pre-sales start on Monday.
Hans Mietzen, for example, who was the head of the city’s press office at the time, knows how the success story began. The manager of the Dorint hotel at the time had attended a similar event elsewhere, he remembers, and gave the idea to Michael Giesen of the Stadthallen GmbH at the time, the local president of Dehoga, Michael Erb and Mietzen, who to provide local gastronomy at a level where it could do. His thing can show performance and flexibility. 1,400 visitors came to the premiere, Mietzen recalls. “Too much. We were literally overwhelmed.” And there was still no security that could have controlled the rush.
The surrounding area is now managed much more professionally, but the gourmet meeting place has not lost its charm and therefore its appeal. “Whether it’s regional food, good home style or upscale, with meat or Fischvegetarian or vegan, all guests will get their money’s worth,” promises Wittig. The restaurants and waiters not only offer German food, but also invite you to “taste” Asian, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Indian, Croatian or other culinary influences. . Everything is served in bite-sized pieces to taste – and often prepared on site and “live”. Of course, selected wines, long drinks, cocktails, soft drinks, beers and selected spirits should not be missing, says Wittig.
What is new is that welcome champagne is served when you enter. After all, we have an anniversary to celebrate. Also new is live music for the best atmosphere and a photo box as a lasting memory of the evening.
Tickets priced at 34.90 euros are available from Monday, December 2nd, in the Tourist Information Office on Büchel but also at Platten Schmidt and in the Rauchbar on Neustraße.
