Neurophysiopathology technician and surfer: “Australia gave me a chance”

From our archives, we present an interview that aired in June 2023. Arianna arrived in Australia almost by chance, as the guest of a dear friend, and began a period of various trips, second thoughts and tourist visas.

“I gave Italy several chances before leaving, but it disappointed me with precarious and underpaid jobs”, Arianna tells SBS Italian.

At some point in 2016 Arianna made a decision, sent her CV to various Australian hospitals and found a job in a very short time. “I arrived here without speaking English, without the right visa, with two dogs and all the wrong clothes, but Australia gave me a chance”. “Down under there is no degree course that qualifies you to become a neurophysiopathology technician, and therefore my role is in great demand”, he says.

“Today I feel satisfied and happy, I do the job I love under the right conditions and I divide my time between my two great passions: surfing and my dog”.
