Neurologist from Indonesia Presents at International Alzheimer’s Conference in Amsterdam

Bogor (ANTARA) – Dr. Andreas Harry SpS (K) a neurologist from Indonesia was invited to attend an international conference on Alzheimer’s disease in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

“This conference was attended by thousands of participants, both world researchers and medical clinicians from all over the world,” he said from Amsterdam, Tuesday (18/7) evening.

This conference was held again after two years of the annual activity being unable to take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the main topic Immunotherapy.

He added that for the next meeting, the conference will be held in Philadelphia, United States of America from July 29 to August 1, 2024.

He explained that the annual conference organized by The Alzheimer`s Association International Conference (AAIC) in 2023 will be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands from Saturday (15/7) to Thursday (20/7).

“Researchers continue to look for the best treatment and therapy for Alzheimer’s by binding, destroying and stopping the protein products of the beta amyloid 40 and 42 genes in the brain as a progressive cause of dementia and in a short time causes death,” he said.

The neurologist who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Airlangga University (Unair) Surabaya, East Java added that currently beta amyloid 56 has been found which is more “toxic”. Another main topic discussed on Tuesday (18/7) tonight, he said, was related to “biomarker tests”.
