Neukirchen: How will the Herrenmühle continue? | Look

Neukirchen. A sale of the Herrenmühle in Neukirchen by owner Claus Hachelberg to the community of Neukirchen failed. “For health reasons he has been thinking about selling it for about three years. Claus Hachelberg wanted to keep the technical monument for the public and could therefore imagine selling it to the community,” says Mayor Sascha Thamm. The community also strived for preservation and included the Herrenmühle in the integrated urban development concept in 2018. Attorney Michael Garling was commissioned to handle the sale of the Herrenmühle in the spring. “An appraisal report for the mill and the land belonging to it was equated with the demand for the purchase price, with which the community was finally approached,” reports Sascha Thamm. However, the municipality was able to submit a counter offer, which was only a tenth of the purchase price. Among other things, they offset the lifelong free tenancy law, the right to have a say in renovations and renovations, and expected renovation costs. Michael Garling declined the counter offer and forbade any contact with Mr. Hachelberg. “We were unable to increase the offer because the follow-up costs could not be estimated. With future expenditures in compulsory areas, such as the construction of the elementary school, an investment of this magnitude in the voluntary area cannot be realized,” explains Thamm. Claus Hachelberg was not available for comment. Garling was also not prepared to provide any information with reference to his legal professional confidentiality. In the meantime, the Neukirchen local history and history association had to leave its premises in the Herrenmühle on August 31st. “We have lost an important mainstay, we held events there and used it as a warehouse,” says Chairman Jürgen Beyer. The association invested 1,600 euros in the construction of a toilet facility and also planned a home parlor in the Herrenmühle.
