? Passage remains: The passage between Schmidstrasse and Mazillisstrasse in downtown Neuburg will remain, as reported. The committee unanimously opposed the owner’s request to give up the city’s right to walk.
The client is planning to add another floor to the building that housed Cecil on the ground floor and Bonita next to it, and would have liked to close the passage that separates the two shops in order to incorporate it into the commercial space. Stadtbauamtsleiter Dieter Reichstein vehemently contradicted the request at this meeting. The passage is elementary for the inner city connections. To this end, he cited a document from the city archive that he had come across. It should be mentioned that once a purchase price flowed from the city to the owner for the right to walk. That was too much for the last possible supporter. “Since I’ve known the letter that it was part of a deal, I have to agree with you,” said Vice Mayor Johann Habermeyer (FW). The other city councilors saw it that way too.
? No traffic calming: Gerhard-Hauptmann-Strasse and parts of Adalbert-Stifter-Strasse are to be renewed in autumn. In the course of this, the administration had considered whether the street cross-section of the two streets designated as 30 zone could not be changed – for example by designating them as traffic-calmed areas. By omitting both sidewalks, a central gutter would have been sufficient for street drainage, which would have saved costs. But that did not make sense to the city councils, as it emerged at the meeting.
Traffic officer Bernhard Pfahler (FW), who had looked at the area during a site inspection with representatives from different authorities, said that the Weigert trucks were also on the road in Adalbert-Stifter-Strasse. “It is difficult to ensure the safety of children.” Therefore, as before the renovation, he pleads against a traffic-calmed area and for sidewalks with high curbs. In principle, from his point of view, at least Gerhart-Hauptmann-Strasse would be suitable for traffic calming. But in view of the vehicles that could slide down the mountain on black ice in winter, he is also there for sidewalks, which represent a barrier for the vehicles.
“I have to join the traffic officer,” said Grnen parliamentary group leader Gerhard Schoder. In general, it is for more traffic-calmed areas, but at this point it makes no sense. Sidewalks with high edges are the safest option for him too. Matthias Enghuber also agreed to this on behalf of his CSU parliamentary group. Vice-Mayor Habermeyer added that at the end of Adalbert-Stifter-Strasse there is also a piece of land “whose future is still in the stars”.
? Reallocation procedure: The zoning plan procedure for the designation of the new one-hectare building area west of Heinrichsheimstrasse is currently in progress. In the meantime, the management has agreed with the owners to rearrange the plot of land as part of a reallocation process. Among other things, the municipality has to build a public road and otherwise would have had to conclude an extra contract with each affected owner. Since the city of Neuburg itself owns 30 percent of the land in the area, the administration pleaded for the procedure to be handed over to the Office for Digitization, Broadband and Surveying in Ingolstadt. The members of the vacation committee fully agreed to this. The fees totaling 33,600 euros will initially be borne by the city of Neuburg, but the other owners will share in the costs.
? Loan approved: The municipal supervisory authority of the District Office has approved the city’s borrowing of one million euros. This was announced by Kmmerer Markus Hckl. In March the city council decided on a supplementary budget with the additional credit to support the municipal utilities.
? Longer work: The facade work on the extension of the Schwalbanger School is going on for even longer. Correspondingly, the scaffold has to stand still longer. The holiday committee has now approved a supplement of 6667 euros. tsp
