Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Zoom will allow its users to make money directly from the platform. You do this through the OnZoom feature. This will also be the new cash machine of the online meeting application that Eric Yuan founded.
OnZoom is a marketplace-like feature on the Zoom website that will offer paid classes. Classes range from cooking, dancing, weddings, mini music concerts to yoga. Zoom users just need to register a class in this feature and Zoom will sell tickets to participate.
To be able to create a paid class at Zoom, users must have a premium Zoom account. Payment for tickets will be made by credit card or PayPal.
This feature will accommodate up to 1,000 people for one class. This service is being tested in the United States (US) and will be launched globally next year. In this trial, Zoom will not cut revenue from ticket sales, as quoted by CNBC International, Friday (16/10/2020).
The Covid-19 pandemic has made the online meeting application Zoom quite popular. Many people choose this platform for work and socializing. The company claims there are more than 300 million users of this platform a day.
Whereas Zoom was originally created for corporate customers, not retail. The large number of individual users who use Zoom makes Eric Yuan and the team try to make money from them in addition to subscription services.
