The Netherlands and France began the current qualification with a head-to-head match in Paris. Then, for 21 minutes, Didier Deschamps’ team was leading 3:0, and subsequently brought the match to an even greater rout. However, the Oranje are still in second place and have not only theoretical, but also practical chances for first place. The goal is quite clear: to defeat France, and preferably with a big score.
Netherlands News
After losing to the French, Koeman’s men won the next three qualifying matches. Of these, they defeated their opponents twice with a score of 3:0. Thanks to this, we managed to gain a foothold in second position, which makes it possible to enter the Euro. However, Gibraltar, Greece and Ireland were defeated, but in the final stage of the Nations League they did not survive against teams of a different level.
First, the Oranje barely saved a draw (in 90+6 minutes) in regular time against Croatia, and then conceded twice in extra time. In the match against Italy, everything was decided in the first 90 minutes or, to be more precise, already in the 72nd minute – then the score was 1:3 in favor of the reigning European champions. And it should be taken into account that Koeman’s team played these matches at home, because the final stage of the Nations League was held in the Netherlands.
Owner’s shots
The infirmary in the Dutch national team is very crowded. Depay, de Ligt, Timber, Frankie de Jong, Gakpo, Malasia, Berghuis were not called to this training camp. Kopmeiners, who was injured in the last match before the international break, will also miss the match against the French.
French News
As part of the selection for the 2024 European Championship, the French have ideal results. The Gallic Roosters, together with Portugal, remain the only teams in the entire qualification period that have not yet conceded a single goal. At the same time, Deschamps’ men scored 11 goals and won the maximum 15 points. France’s toughest match was not even against the Netherlands or Greece, but the away match against Ireland. The British put up a powerful defense, but with great difficulty they managed to break through it thanks to Pavard’s goal.
The French lost their last match. Deschamps’ team met in a friendly match with Germany in Dortmund. In general, the meeting was quite passive. However, a quick goal from the Germans in the fourth minute tipped the scales heavily in their favor. By the end of the meeting, the teams exchanged goals. It was Germany’s first victory over France since the 2014 World Cup.
Guest shots
The only important losses for the French are in the center of defense. Three players are in the infirmary at once. Fofana has been injured for a long time, but Upamecano and Kounde were injured last weekend. Nkunku is also out of the game.

Prediction of the match Netherlands – France from UA-Football
The Oranje have a chance at first place, but will they stretch for it if second position also offers an opportunity to advance? They just need to score as many points as possible, but this is unlikely to be possible now. Koeman has lost a lot of key players. Although France lost the last match, there is no need to highlight this defeat separately – it was a sparring match. Deschamps’ men will be different on the Johann Cruyff Arena pitch. Prediction: French victory.
