Netherlands relaxes quarantine: cafes and museums open

Museums open again in the Netherlands

All tickets were quickly sold out, and most of the tables in restaurants and cafes were booked, local media write.

In the Netherlands on Saturday, June 5, new relaxation of restrictions imposed by the pandemic coronavirus began to take effect, according to the local newspaper NOS. From now on, cultural institutions, namely cinemas, museums and theaters, have started working again in the country.

At the same time, restaurants are now allowed to receive guests indoors, and not just on terraces on the street. In addition, their opening hours have been extended until 22:00. At the same time, there are still restrictions on the number of guests in all these establishments.

All tickets were quickly sold out, and most of the tables in restaurants and cafes were booked, local media write. Also, concessions for sports have begun to apply.

Earlier in the Netherlands, they canceled the night curfew and allowed shops, fitness studios and zoos to open. Sex workers are already allowed to work.

As reported, in mid-December, the Netherlands introduced a hard lockdown, which was then gradually weakened.

Over the past three weeks, the number of new infections and hospitalizations in the country has decreased. Almost half of the population has already received at least the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and about 20 percent are already fully vaccinated.
