“Netherlands Records Lowest Eurovision Final Viewership in 10 Years”

In the host country United Kingdom, the final of the Eurovision Song Contest set viewing figures. A total of 11 million Britons watched the big climax of the song competition in Liverpool. That is a viewing figure record, according to the BBC.

In the Netherlands, the viewing figures were disappointing. The final of the Eurovision Song Contest, without the Netherlands, attracted an average of 1.84 million viewers on Saturday evening. It was therefore the most watched program of the Saturday evening. But it is also the worst-watched final of the song festival in ten years.

Saturday’s figures are in stark contrast to previous years. Since 2016, the Eurovision final has almost always attracted more than 4 million viewers. The record was set in 2021, when the song competition took place in Rotterdam. Then more than 5.5 million people watched the final evening.

In Liverpool, the presentation of the Eurovision Song Contest was in the hands of well-known British TV personalities Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham and Graham Norton. They hosted the event with the well-known Ukrainian rock star Julia Sanina. Sweden eventually won, ahead of Finland and Israel.
