Substitute Wout Vikhorst scored a goal in the second half as the Netherlands recovered from an early goal deficit and won 2-1 over host Ireland in Group B of the European Football Championship qualifiers on Sunday.
Ireland took an early lead four minutes later from a penalty kick by Adam Idah, but the Netherlands won a penalty kick and equalized through Cody Jacobo in the 19th minute.
Vikhorst snatched the winning goal at the Aviva Stadium after 56 minutes, moving the Netherlands to second place in the group with nine points, six points behind France, but with a postponed match remaining.
Greece also has nine points after a 5-0 victory over Gibraltar on Sunday.
Ireland lost four times in five matches, and the future of coach Stephen Kenny was at stake.
