Two of the market’s leading players in networking and live productions, NETGEAR and Panasonic Connect, are now launching a large-scale collaboration to support Panasonic Connect’s AV-over-IP solution, KAIROS – and it starts with NETGEAR’s ST 2110-compatible switches.

NETGEAR, the leading manufacturer of networking products for businesses of all sizes, is now announcing an interoperable partnership with Panasonic Connect for the latter’s KAIROS IT/IP platform for live production. The M4350 series of ST 2110-compatible switches is part of NETGEAR’s ambition to develop AV over IP solutions for the broadcast and ProAV industries.

KAIROS is an IT/IP platform for live production that gives professionals unlimited control over their streams for live production, broadcasting and viewing on big screens. KAIROS now adds the ST 2110 as a supported standard to provide unmatched input/output flexibility. The user sees only an intuitive user interface, which is easy to use.

The NETGEAR M4250, M4300, M4350 and M4500 series of managed switches are unique because of their innovative AV-oriented user interfaces: All complex menus with complicated IT networking terminology have been removed, so that the NETGEAR AV OS provides an AV-friendly, template-based access to all the setup of the switches. This means that ProAV integrators can easily set up and build complex AV installations, where the network part does not make it unnecessarily complicated.

The M4350 series combines the simplicity of industrial-class hardware with redundant power supply, Power over Ethernet (PoE), up to 90W per port, as well as an ultra-low noise level. NETGEAR AV OS comes with preconfigured profiles for the most important audio, video and lighting protocols, including AVB, Dante, AES67, NDI4/NDI5, NVX, AMX, Q-SYS, ZeeVee, AuroraMultimedia, Kramer, Atlona, LibAV, Visionary, SDVoE and many more.

– NETGEAR has pioneered a simple configuration process that helps broadcast PROAV engineers migrate from traditional workflows to IP workflows with greater confidence. There is no better platform to demonstrate our interoperability than the Panasonic KAIROS system,” said Tod Musgrave, senior broadcast BDM at NETGEAR.

– We are happy to announce that we have added NETGEAR as our KAIROS alliance partner. We believe that the user-friendly design of the M4350 series with its template-based configurations will open new opportunities for SMPTE ST 2110 in the video production market through our collaboration, says Kageyuki (Kenny) Fujimoto, lead manager of KAIROS Alliance Partners.
