The Marksman flopped at the box office (via The Numbers ) and received on Metacritic mediocre reviews. Many critics enjoyed Neeson’s proven action qualities, but found the story to be extremely predictable.
The Marksman was not even released in cinemas in Germany in 2021. Several months after its US theatrical run, it was released on DVD and Blu-ray in Germany in August 2021. In the director’s chair was Robert Lorenz (American Sniper), who produced many of Clint Eastwood’s films.
