Netflix’s docuseries on the world of videogames

“High Score” is a docu-series and the most recent bet of Netflix, subtitled The World of videogames.

The story narrated by Charles Martinet, who voices Mario, is divided into six episodes and the plot moves between Japan and the United States. «High Score» presents a passionate tour with unknown stories of the pioneers of video games and the revolution of the advances of the gamer world.

What are some of the High Score stories?

One of them is that of a group of engineering students who buy arcade machines to earn coins at their university, but then they get more profit after starting to modify video games like ‘Missile Command’ y ‘Pac-Man. On the other hand, another is about the five-point plan of an American executive of Sega to confront the empire of Nintendo

Among those and many more you will find in the series, which has the episodes «Boom & bus«, «Comeback kid«, «Role players«, «This is war«, «Fight« and “Level up«, which provide a detailed look at the companies and the protagonists who were part (and continue to be) in the history of video games.

With a combination of interviews, archival material, with videos and photographs from different eras – and animations to recreate key moments, High Score offers an entertaining look at the history of video games on consoles, arcades and computers.
