Netflix is currently the most popular movie and series streaming platform. But recently we learned that the service may be on the verge of expanding its offering by integrating games as early as 2022.
In this sense, now there are more news that indicate that the streaming of games on the platform will be done through a partnership with PlayStation.
last week we inform that Netflix would expand its business into the gaming segment as well. To that end, the platform has already hired Mike Verdu, a former executive at EA Games and Facebook, to be vice president of the game development department.
Of course, once everything is better defined, the company will have several strong competitors. However, information indicates that the Netflix gaming sector will arrive as early as 2022. Interestingly, after the news was announced on the website Bloomberg, shares of the streaming platform rose 3.3% to $566.
Netflix prepares partnership with PlayStation for game streaming
Recent information now indicates that Netflix will be partnering with Sony's PlayStation to create a gaming service. This rumor gained traction after a data extract from the Netflix iOS app revealed images linking the two companies.
One of these images shows the cover of the action-adventure game Ghost of Tsushima, distributed exclusively by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation consoles. Also in this data exploration was found an image supposedly alluding to the future streaming gaming service from Netflix. The revelations were made by Steve Moser of The Tape Driver website.
Ah, twitter’s white image background bites me again. Here is the “N Game” logo. $NFLX pic.twitter.com/7STZYQ6I7m

The logo appears with the inscription “N Game”, and the letter “N” is identical to the one that composes the Netflix brand name. Therefore, we can deduce that the service will be called “Netflix Game” or just “N Game”.
Another screenshot shows two PlayStation 5 controllers floating on a lilac wallpaper and bubbles all around. However, the image does not contain any logo or reference to the film and series streaming platform. But, as mentioned above, these are images found in the service's app.
For now there is no official information about this possible partnership between the popular streaming service and PlayStation. But let's be on the lookout for more news on this subject.
