Netflix is experimenting in France with its own channel on which various series and films are broadcast. This ‘Direct’ channel is part of the web version of Netflix, it reported company.
The on-demand service is testing the function in France because there is still a lot of demand there for a traditional TV channel where the service ‘itself’ determines what you watch. French Netflix subscribers will see an offer from France and Europe on the channel.
The new feature has been slowly rolled out in France since Friday. The intention is that all French Netflix subscribers will have access to it from December. It is not yet known whether Netflix plans to roll out the channel in other countries.
