I don’t think the problem is that the series ends after 2 seasons.
In fact, I love those series with only 6 episodes, because they usually have a finished story.
The problem is that nowadays every series essentially has to be part of one or more major story arcs. And they all come to a dead end when the series ends, leaving you as a viewer with half a story and lots of questions, which gives you an unsatisfactory feeling. Unlike traditional series, where each episode had its own story, with an arc of 1 or 2 seasons as an additional overarching theme
Netflix should either go back to the older style, or they should set aside money for say 6 extra episodes when making the season, and let the writers figure out how to finish overarching arcs in 6 episodes. If the series turns out not to be popular enough, you still make those 6 episodes so that the viewers get a completed story.
Popular and if there is a new season, you take that reservation with you to the next season, and you also draw your 6 last episodes there.
