As confirmed in January, Disney has officially ordered the series Percy Jackson And The Olympians. Now it is also known who will take on the leading role: “The Adam Project” star Walter Scobell.
As of 2020, it is known that author Rick Riordan is working on a new adaptation of his globally popular “Percy Jackson” books. The fact that we won’t be getting a movie next, but a series, has now also been confirmed after Disney commissioned the series “Percy Jackson And The Olympians”. Filming is slated to begin later this year so the series can be released on Disney+ in 2023.
The big question of who will take on the leading role and thus replace Logan Lerman, who previously embodies the eponymous hero in “Percy Jackson: Thieves in Olympus” and “Percy Jackson 2: The Vampire Slayer” has now also been answered. “The Adam Project” star Walker Scobell slips into the role of the modern-day demigodwho will have his hands full restoring order to Olympus.
Walker Scobell made his acting debut this year in Netflix hit The Adam Project alongside Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner. With his nonchalant charm and youthful vulnerability, which Scobell demonstrated in the sci-fi blockbuster, he arguably recommended himself very impressively to those responsible for the “Percy Jackson” series for the leading role.
