Producer, lyricist, singer and choreographer Kate Bush released “Running up that hill (a deal with God)” out in 1985 on her album “Hounds of love”. She invented it on her synthesizer. The song is about a relationship between a man and a woman in which love is strong, but many insecurities remain. The “deal with God “(throw on a date with God, ed.) consists in exchanging with each other for mutual understanding.
The classic was originally supposed to be called “A deal with God”. However, Bush’s record company feared that radio stations would not play the song because it contained the word “God”. Placebo made a cover of “Running up that hill” in 2007.
Kate Bush is now 63 and lives in reclusive life in the south of England. She is said to be working on new material and helps son Albert on his way musically.
