Netflix has previously been clear that their competitors are not really HBO and others but other things that steal screen time from their service, then mainly games. Now Bloomberg says that Netflix has hired managers who previously worked at EA and Facebook to start a gaming service at Netflix.
Exactly how it will work is not clear but the service can begin to be delivered in the coming year. You are expected to roll out a few games at a time and before the service becomes really big on content, it is not very likely that you will pay extra for the games. How things will turn out with that thing, however, remains to be seen.
That Netflix starts with games feels both a little strange and completely logical. Strange because Netflix is like moving picture, logical because why not like. If I already have a Netflix account, why should I pay for Stadia, for example?
