Netflix is betting on New York. The online video platform announced on Thursday that it would strengthen its teams within the city and set up a production studio there. This could employ several thousand people by 2024.
The Californian streaming giant, which today employs only 32 people in New York, has rented 15,000 square meters of space in Brooklyn. The goal? Build six production sets to make part of the giant’s future series, which has given priority to cartoons.

If Netflix has already produced series shot, in whole or in part, in New York, it did not have until now its own studios in the most populous city in the United States.
