The streaming service Netflix It has a mobilizing week in the face of multiple notable premieres. One of them will be the movie Tear Maker, based on the novel of the same name by Erin Doom that has millions of fans around the world. Its synopsis advances: “An ancient legend runs within the walls of the orphanage where Nica grew up: that of the tear maker, a mysterious craftsman who manufactures all the fears and anxieties that live in the human heart. Mr. and Mrs. Milligan have started the adoption process and are ready to give her the family she always wanted. However, Nica is not alone in her new home. What was the production of Fabricante de Lágrimas like?
The novel Tear Maker was published by Magazzini Salani in 2021 and became the best-selling book of 2022 in Italy. Following its success, the production company Colorado Film acquired the rights to a film adaptation and hired director Alessandro Genovesi. Filming took place in Pescara and Ravenna from April to June 2023. Then, Netflix bought its distribution to be released globally through streaming.
