Netflix launches service to compete with TikTok

The American streaming giant has chosen to think even bigger with “Fast Laughs”. This is a new platform for short videos, launched to compete with TikTok and Reels. The service is expected to give users a preview of the fun snippets from Netflix’s library of series. The company commented on this in a press release.

“Do you want to see something funny?” On Netflix, that little question opens up a lot of possibilities, from hilarious series and movies to silly stand-up specials. That’s why we’re launching a new Fast Laughs feature for mobile devices. Fast Laughs features a fullscreen stream of fun snippets from our large comedy catalog including movies (Murder Mystery), series (Big Mouth), sitcoms (The Crew) and stand-ups from comedians like Kevin Hart and Ali Wong. “

Users can access the service through the bottom navigation menu by clicking on the Fast Laughs tab. The clips are played in series, that is, as soon as one ends, another starts automatically. They can be shared on Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. The innovation is, for the moment, only available on iPhone, in a few countries. Testing on Android will begin soon.
