The “Highly Like” button with two thumbs up has an impact algorithm that helps refine customer recommendations.
Netflix will provide a new thumb button option that represents a level of satisfaction that is greater than just contentment. The company recently launched globally a button with a meaningful two thumbs up icon film or the event has a very good rating from customers.
Reported by Tek.id from TechRadar (12/4), this new feature has been leaked by the company since last week. Now, the feature is rolling out globally for web, iOS, Android and devices streaming other.
Buttons with two thumbs-up or “Totally Like”, have a different algorithmic impact. In a company blog post, Netflix Director of Product Innovation, Christine Doig-Cardet, explains that new buttons can better reflect what users like.
“Our current Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons are a great way for you to let us know how you feel about a series or movie, and in return, you get a profile that’s more tailored to your tastes. however, we have learned over time that these feelings can be more than just likes or dislikes. Providing a way to let us know when you really like something can provide a profile with recommendations that better reflect what you like,” says Doig-Cardet.
In short, this new button will help Netflix improve recommendations to subscribers. Doig-Cardet gives an example, if customers really like Bridgerton, then they are likely to see more series or films starring the cast or productions from Shondaland.
The Strongly Like button will join the other two buttons that can be found on every movie or show profile. Click the thumb icon, three options will appear, including Not for me (thumbs down), Like this (one thumb), and Really like it (two thumbs).
