A SeriesWiki found that the Standard package of the streaming service increased by 9 percent, from HUF 3,190 to HUF 3,490, while the monthly fee of the Premium package increased by 13 percent, from HUF 3,990 to HUF 4,490. The price of the basic package has not been changed, it still remains at HUF 2,490.
The portal also states that Netflix’s current Hungarian subscribers will not swim in the price increase either. At one of the hidden points on the Netflix website, the SeriesWiki found the following information:
“These rates apply to new subscribers and will take effect gradually for all current subscribers. Current subscribers will be notified by email 30 days prior to the price change unless they change tariff plans.”
According to information from the SeriesWiki, the price increase in Hungary has no local reasons, but is part of a global process and sooner or later Netflix will take action in every country.
The service, which has been available in Hungary since January 2016, has now raised prices for the first time – reminds Media1.hu.
