If you don’t like Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, Disney+ has little to offer in my opinion, I tried it a few times in the beginning via an account of an acquaintance but it didn’t appeal to me much.
I haven’t tried HBO Max in the Netherlands yet, so I don’t dare to say what they offer extra, but despite the fact that there are many good series in the HBO portfolio, they are often series that are a bit older. If I take the people around me as a starting point (which is not repressive of course) who have the top shows (which I can come up with in a minute: GoT, Chernobyl, Sex and the City, The Wire, The Sopranos, Band of Brothers, Westworld ) already seen. In any case, the lack of the Hulu catalog is a loss for me. Whether the costs for Euphoria and House of the Dragon (series on my watch list) are worth it, I dare not say. I’m not really a movie watcher so I have no idea how they score there.
With Prime, the question is whether you pay the actual price for their product. They will of course get/keep you through this (extra) service in their ecosystem and therefore earn faster on other purchases.
My conclusion is a sad one where the streaming landscape has become drastically fragmented over the past two/three years that you have to make an effort to find what you want to see or grab a lot of money. Netflix saw it coming at the time and has therefore invested billions in its own productions to get on par with the other services, but unfortunately that is a wipe for the bleeding and does not prevent them from having to ask more and watch commercials to recoup their investments/make a profit. Live broadcasts filled with news, current affairs and sports would be an excellent broadening of their portfolio.
