Netflix introduces new viewership counting method after ‘Squid Game’ popularity | TV

Netflix will opt for a more reliable system in the future. In the past, the streaming service considered a program “watched” if viewers watched more than two minutes of an episode. But of course, watching two minutes of a series does not mean that their customers have seen the entire series and are fans of it. The figures that the company released to the world were therefore open to interpretation in the past.

In the future, Netflix will report on figures in the form of ‘hours viewed per customer in 28 days’. That is of course more than enough to watch a complete series. So soon we’ll know how many devoted fans each series has. That is, if Netflix chooses to release numbers. The broadcaster is notoriously frugal with sharing that information, usually only doing it if a program scores exceptionally well.
