Even more worryingly, titles scheduled for 2025 are also part of this massive leak. This is particularly the case for Mononoke the Movie: Phantomcurrently showing in Japanese cinemas, whose addition to the Netflix catalog had not yet been made official.

The platform explained the origin of this leak in a brief statement: “One of our post-production partners has been compromised and clips from several of our titles have unfortunately leaked onto the internet. Our team is taking aggressive action to take them offline.”

It is important to note that Netflix is not the only victim of this incident. Crunchyroll, a platform specializing in Japanese animation, was also affected by this historic leak. This event is part of a broader context of digital content vulnerability, as shown by the recent leak of the season 2 finale of House of the Dragonmade available on social networks a week before its official release.

Faced with this situation, Netflix has not yet indicated whether it plans to bring forward the online release of the productions concerned. For now, it seems that the platform is maintaining its initial release schedule.
