Netflix has excelled in creating anime series, and one of the latest is “Terminator: Zero” (Terminator Zero). Perhaps the project will be continued.
The animated show featured humanity’s new battle with the villainous artificial intelligence Skynet. The anime, co-produced by Production I.G, has not yet officially been greenlit for a second season. However, the official promo points to this possibility.
As noted by the portal What’s on Netflixon Netflix’s Latino X account “Terminator: Zero” was tagged “Temporada 2”. This translates to “Season 2” in Portuguese. This can hardly be called a mistake or typo.
Earlier this year, showrunner Mattson Tomlin told Comicbook that he wanted to pay homage to James Cameron’s original films.
This is the first time we’ve told a story without the Connors. They do not appear this season. And this is the first story within “Terminator”which does not occur in the US. This is also the first animated story. These three things in themselves create a completely new experience. So I would say to the fans who wanted something different: this is it. They might like it. They might hate it. This is completely normal. But, you know, my goal in making this show was to make something that actually had soul.
Most likely a second season “Terminator: Zero” will be released in 2026. There is also a new film in development, which Cameron is personally involved in.
