On Vortex, we’ve repeatedly covered the growing selection of games for Netflix subscribers. At first, a rather unobtrusive service has become quite an attractive place in recent months, where you can find a number of decent games. Just to name a few, we can name Terra Nil, Oxenfree and its sequel, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Twelve Minutes or Immortality. All are mobile versions for iOS and Android, though there is speculation that Netflix will eventually want to expand to other platforms or at least try cloud streaming. But what if you don’t want to play on your mobile or tablet? The company has already taken a small step towards this.
Netflix has released an app aptly named Netflix Game Controllerwith the help of which it will be possible to play mobile titles on the TV screen (via TechCrunch). The future tense is in place. Although the app is already available for iOS, it doesn’t work yet. And we don’t even have any indication of when it will start supporting TV gaming. But hopefully it won’t last long. A screenshot from the App Store reveals that the layout of the buttons on the virtual controller will be a bit non-standard and remotely reminiscent of, for example, a gamepad from the GameCube console.
