According to Whizcase, hacked social media profiles are commonplace in most dark web marketplaces. Reddit, TikTok, and Pinterest accounts are among the cheapest deals, selling for $6 to $9. However, hacked accounts in entertainment services have fought for a real niche. Annual Netflix and Spotify accounts average $12, with Disney+ and Apple Music being the most expensive at $14 and $15, respectively. As the experts explain, most of the accounts offered have probably fallen into the hands of the sellers via social engineering or phishing campaigns. The hackers gain access to email addresses used to register for the services. “Typically, these accounts are linked to their original owners’ payment methods, which hackers often compromise,” Whizcase continued. It is always questionable how long the hacked accounts really remain active.

Gmail and LinkedIn are the top sellers

With prices up to $45, hacked Gmail and LinkedIn accounts are the most expensive premium product in the dark web trade, so to speak. Both services are becoming more widespread, especially in the business sector, and buyers can also promise themselves access to other connected services. WhatsApp accounts cost around $18, while Skype and Telegram are significantly cheaper at $6 and $8 respectively.
