Netflix, Disney +, Amazon Prime Video … Movies and series to watch this week from January 22 to 28

This week, streaming platforms will launch several exclusive films. On Netflix, we will be able to watch “The White Tiger”, an Indian film with Priyanka Chopra Jonas. For its part, Amazon Prime Video will launch “The Personal History of David Copperfield”, the new film by Armando Iannucci adapted from Charles Dickens. On the Canal + side, we will be able to discover two films released in theaters in early 2020.

For fans of series, Netflix will launch both its new production for teens and offer the new season of the sci-fi series “Snowpiercer”. Amazon will release the new Star Trek series – an animated comedy – while OCS will broadcast the new special episode of “Euphoria”.

On Netflix, launch of the teen series ‘Destiny: The Winx Saga’ – Friday 22

The Winx – a group of fairy stars of an animated series that appeared in France in 2004 – return in this series, the first images of which reveal a strong inspiration from “Riverdale” or “Sabrina”. The nostalgic of the first hour will be confused, but the presence of the creator of the original series in the credits of this remake will perhaps be able to reassure them.

Also on Netflix, ‘Snowpiercer’ season 2 launch – Tuesday 26

The series adapted from Bong Joon-Ho’s film – which follows a group of passengers on a train that travels the Earth without stopping in a post-apocalyptic future – returns for a season 2 with one episode per week. It is already renewed for season 3, and season 1 is of course still available on the platform.

On Amazon Prime Video, arrival of the animated series ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ – Friday 22

After having proposed “Star Trek: Picard” in 2020, Amazon is launching a second exclusive series around the famous science fiction saga. This time around, it’s an animated comedy series about the adventures of the crew of Starfleet’s least important ship. A season two is already in production.

Prime Video will also feature the unreleased film ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ – Tuesday 26

Adapted from Charles Dickens’ book, this film directed by Armando Iannucci (“The Thick of It”, “In the Loop”, “Veep”) brings together a five-star cast. In addition to Dev Patel in the title role, we find Hugh Laurie, Tilda Swinton, Peter Capaldi and Gwendoline Christie.

On OCS, release of the new special episode of ‘Euphoria’ – Saturday 23

A month after the special Street-centric episode, the HBO series turns to Jules, its other central character. Its interpreter, Hunter Schafer, is even a co-writer of the episode.

Disney + offers the animated film ‘The Legend of Manolo’ – Friday 22

This 2014 film produced by 20th Century Fox Animation is set around the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico. One way to extend the experience of “Coco”, the Pixar film uploaded last week on the platform.

On Canal +, broadcast of ‘Underwater’ with Kristen Stewart – Friday 22

This American disaster film stars Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassel in an underwater station destroyed after an earthquake. They will then have to face underwater monsters.
