Thallumala, which turned out to be one of Mollywood’s biggest hits of the year, caused a stir even after its release on OTT. Thallumala was released on Netflix in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. The first controversy was when the crew changed the subtitle given for the film. The creators of Thallumala’s subtitles had come forward the other day against Netflix claiming that the subtitles had been changed without their knowledge or consent.
But now the controversy is that the beef was completely cut from the Kannada version of Thallumala. From the very first scenes of the film, beef enters the dialogue in many parts. In one scene there is a lot of talk about beef. However, the beef was completely removed from the dialogue and subtitles in such scenes. Mutton and curry are used instead.
Movie buffs have come forward on social media against Netflix, which has a history of cutting beef from movies and the like. Some even shared scenes from the Kannada version of Thallumala. The public claims that Netflix is doing such a degrading job out of fear of gangs.
