A Netflix has announced that it will raise the prices of two subscription plans on its streaming service, a change that will be felt in the US and Canada. How does it count Reuters, the ‘Standard’ plan goes from $13.99 to $15.49, while the ‘Premium’ plan is now priced at $19.99 instead of the previous $17.99.
“These prices apply to new members and will take effect gradually for all current members. Current members will receive an email notification 30 days prior to the price change unless they change their plan.”, can be read on the Netflix customer support page.
Remember that this is the sixth time that Netflix has increased the prices of its subscription plans since 2014, decisions that the company has justified with the strategy of developing its own original programming.
“We are updating our pricing so that we continue to offer a wide variety of quality entertainment options. As always, we offer a range of plans so members can choose a price that works for their budget.”, said a Netflix spokesperson to the North American publication.
At the moment there is still no news about a price increase in European territory, so we will have to wait to find out about Netflix’s plans.
