Good news for all aficionados of historical series. After “The Crown”, Netflix is preparing a show on the extraordinary destiny of John F. Kennedy. The series will be inspired by a biographical work of the former President of the United States which was a great success.
After recounting the extraordinary destiny of Sovereign Elizabeth II in The Crown, Netflix will look at the life of another historical figure: John F. Kennedy.
An American version of The Crown
According to information from Variety, the streaming giant is reportedly preparing a series that resembles in every way The Crown. The trajectory of the former President of the United States will be told through different significant moments of his life, from his youth in Massachusetts to his military service, including his rise to the White House and his death in Dallas .
Netflix wants to ride on the success of The Crown by producing an “American version” of the series about the British royal family. The fiction about John F. Kennedy will be inspired by the biography by Swedish historian Fredrik Logevall, entitled JFK : Coming Of Age In The American Century, 1917-1956. Proof that Netflix sees things big for this project: it is none other than screenwriter Eric Roth, known for having won the Oscar for best screenplay in 1995 for Forrest Gumpand for having worked on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by David Fincher, who will write and produce the series on JFK.
The name of the actor who will play the role of the former President of the United States has not yet been revealed… Your bets!
