Last summer it was announced that the sequel to ‘Bright’ was on the way, and that lead actors Will Smith and Joel Edgerton would be returning. The script still had to be refined, but director David Ayer was determined to bring the production to a successful conclusion. In vain, as it turns out, because according to Bloomberg, Netflix has decided to scrap the project completely.

It is also not the only project to be scrapped: it was previously announced that ‘Fast and Loose’, also a Netflix film in which Will Smith would appear, was shelved indefinitely. The actor also saw a new National Geographic project fall into the water.
