Ambitious is the right word to describe NetEase Games’ strategy over the past few years. No longer satisfied with just being known as a studio that focuses on mobile games, NetEase is starting to seriously enter the console and PC markets. This step immediately started by recruiting big talents from Japan and the West, then giving them a new studio to work on projects which are currently still considered mysterious. One thing is certain, NetEase Games has no plans to stop.
NetEase Games has just announced the formation of a new studio called Fantastic Pixel Castle which will focus on developing AAA class MMO games. It will be led by Greg Street, Blizzard’s former Lead System Designer for World of Warcraft. Most of this developer’s first team also came from former talents who had worked on games such as League of Legends, Guild Wars 2, Fortnite, Overwatch, and Valorant. The project will use the codename “Ghost”.
This new studio owned by NetEase will focus on building AAA class MMO games with the code name “Ghost”.
Fantastic Pixel Castle itself plans to continue working as a small team but consisting of great talents in the name of efficiency. There is no information yet about when this game will be available to be shown to the public. What do you think? Optimistic about him?
