Netatmo Steps Towards the Release of its HomeKit Video Doorbell

Netatmo finally seems to be progressing towards the marketing of its first HomeKit doorbell, the Smart Video Doorbell. The manufacturer posted a video a few days ago explaining how to install it (version PDF), replacing a classic wired model.

As usual, Netatmo announces products whose availability does not arrive until (very) long later and beyond even the date mentioned. In the case of this product, it was unveiled at CES in Las Vegas in January 2019 with an exit forecast in the second half of the same year…

His characteristics are known since. It uses a 1080p video sensor to detect individuals, day or night, or monitor a defined area near the door and we can call the person in front of the door with the built-in speaker (a possibility that the indoor camera).

The recordings are stored locally on an SD card or on a Dropbox or even FTP account (no additional subscription required, like the other products of the brand). The doorbell operates on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and draws its power from the electrical system used by the doorbell it replaces. Its marketing price remains unknown.

[MàJ] : We were informed that the beta version of the Netatmo Security app mentions the beginning of the evaluation of this new accessory.
