Netanyahu threatens Iran and promises “historic turning points” with Arab countries

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed unity around “clear national goals” at the start of the new Israeli government’s first weekly session on Tuesday, pledging to work towards them.

He added: “At the outset, we are united on the security issue and will act publicly, from a position of strength, in the international arena, against a return to the Iranian nuclear deal, not only in talks with leaders behind closed doors, but forcefully and openly at the level of world opinion, aware of the real dangers posed by Iran and the Iranian regime killing innocent citizens inside and outside Iran.

Netanyahu added: “We will do everything we can to prevent a return to this bad deal, which leads to a nuclear Iran under international auspices. We will also take strong measures to prevent Iran from stepping up its military presence in Syria and elsewhere, and we won’t wait”.

Regarding the internal situation, the Israeli prime minister said: “We are also united on the restoration of personal security, and we have received a clear mandate from the people to restore it, and we will take strong action against violators wherever they are, in order to restore security personal to all Israeli citizens, Jews and Arabs alike.” .

He added: “We are united in terms of strengthening governance and on this too we have received a clear mandate from the people. To this end, we will introduce reforms that will increase governance and ensure an appropriate balance of powers.”

He continued: “United in the fight against the high cost of living, we will take steps to alleviate the plight of Israeli citizens who have absorbed the steep price hikes over the past year. And last night I had a preliminary economic discussion with the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Economy and Professor Avi Simhon on the urgent steps we will take regarding this issue will be in the coming days.

Netanyahu concluded his remarks by saying, “We are united in widening the circle of peace, which I am sure also unites all citizens of Israel. We are also determined to deepen the existing peace agreements with six Arab countries and add to these historic breakthroughs with other Arab countries in the region”, adding: “We have a lot of work to do and there is no time to lose”.
