Netanyahu: “Israel has not said its last word” – 2024-08-28 06:31:11

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned today that his country has not had “its last word” with the pre-emptive strikes it launched against Lebanon early today to prevent a large-scale attack by the Shiite Hezbollah movement.

“Three weeks ago we neutralized (Hezbollah’s) commander and today we prevented their offensive plans”Netanyahu emphasized during the opening of the cabinet.

According to the Israeli prime minister, the air defense intercepted all the drones that were launched against a target in central Israel.

At the same time, Netanyahu said that Hezbollah and Iran should know that Israel’s response was “another step towards changing the situation in the north and the safe return of our residents to their homes.”

“This is not the end of the story”he underlined.

Israel announced that it had thwarted a large-scale attack by Hezbollah by launching multiple strikes in Lebanon.

But the Shiite Lebanese movement said it had managed to fire hundreds of drones and rockets at Israeli positions in retaliation for the July 30 death of a senior member of its military wing, Fouad Shukr, in an Israeli strike in a Beirut suburb.
