Netanyahu: He accuses Hamas of “hardening” its stance in the negotiations – 2024-04-02 13:24:30

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today accused Hamas of “hardening” its stance in negotiations for a possible truce in the war in the Gaza Strip.

“While Israel showed flexibility in its positions during the negotiations, Hamas hardened them,” Netanyahu told a news conference. Earlier, Hamas said it had not yet made a decision on whether to send a delegation to Doha or Cairo for negotiations. A Palestinian movement official said the positions between Hamas and Israel were still “too far apart” for there to be any hope of “progress” in the truce negotiations.

Regarding the state of his health, Netanyahu said that he expects a full and speedy recovery from the operation he was going to undergo today.

Israel’s prime minister will undergo surgery today for a hernia, which his doctors discovered, a statement from his office said.

Four dead, 17 injured by Israeli bombardment

An Israeli bombardment of al-Aqsa hospital in central Gaza left 4 dead and 17 wounded, the director of the World Health Organization (WHO) said in a post on X.

“A WHO team was on a humanitarian mission to al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza when a camp inside the hospital compound was hit by an Israeli airstrike today. Four people were killed and 17 injured,” wrote Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, clarifying that no WHO staff were injured.
