The new government with Bennett was sworn in a month ago. The anti-Netanyahu coalition has eight parties that together hold 61 of the 120 seats in the Knesset, as the parliament is called. After Bennett, a tech millionaire and former defense secretary, his coalition partner Yair Lapid, center politician and former TV presenter, will take office in 2023 as Prime Minister.
According to Israeli media, Netanyahu was not keen on leaving the official residence soon after the new government was sworn in. He would need some time to pack his things. The Haaretz newspaper reported that Bennett allowed Netanyahu and his family that time.
Israeli media reported that Bennett will be staying at the Jerusalem official residence four days a week. His family would continue to live in Raanana near Tel Aviv.
Netanyahu was Prime Minister of Israel from 1996-1999 and 2009-2021.
