D100 Internet station host “Jess” Yin Yaosheng was charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit acts of willful incitement and was sentenced to 32 months in prison. In pre-trial detention, he will serve about two years in prison. A FB page posted a photo of Jess today, reposting that Jess’s “first thing to do when he leaves for Lebanon is eat the first ounce and drink a cup of iced coffee.” He also said Jess thanked everyone for their help, “I wish everyone good health.”

Yin Yaosheng came out of prison at 9 this morning, describing his calm mood and hoping to meet his family sooner and adjust to life. He also expressed that he had no plans to leave Hong Kong. There is no way . I never thought about emigrating, I want to stay here.”

Yin Yaosheng was accused of posting then-CEO Carrie Lam’s “dead family” remarks on the show and launching the “Thousands of Parents Taiwan Education” crowdfunding plan to support protesters in Taiwan. He was accused of working with his assistants to clean up more than 10 million yuan of black money. He admitted 1 count of conspiracy with intent to incitement and 3 counts of money laundering. Last month, he was sentenced to 32 months in prison by the district court and confiscated assets worth more than 4.87 million yuan.
