Nestle Romania withdraws an ice cream from the market

Nestle Romania announced on Wednesday that it is withdrawing the Aloma Tiramisu product from the market. The measure is a precaution, the company says, motivating that there is a potential risk of contamination with nuts and peanuts. Nestle Romania apologized to consumers for this problem.

The target product is Aloma Tiramisu 490g / 900 ml, and the company announces that it is safe for consumption, except for people who have allergies to nuts or peanuts.

“These ingredients (nuts and hazelnuts) are allergens and have not been declared on the label of the product in question, a necessary mention for consumers with allergies to them,” says Nestle Romania.

The affected products have one of the following batch numbers, which can be found on the lid of the box, below the expiration date, respectively:

– L61626535 / expiration date: 12/2017

Any consumer with allergy to nuts and peanuts who has bought one of the products with the specified batch number is asked not to consume the product, the company also reports on its website.

Those who have bought this type of ice cream and are allergic to the mentioned ingredients should keep the lid on and contact Nestle Romania at 08008 637853, free call from any telephone network.

This is not the first time a product has been withdrawn from the market due to ingredients that can cause allergies. Lidl withdrew three products in the spring of this year, in Great Britain.
