Nestle Responds to Bear Brand Issues Become the Hottest Topic and Prices Rise

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Director of Corporate Affairs at Nestle Indonesia, Debora R. Tjandrakusuma, responding to the widespread purchase of milk Bear Brand and its rising prices in e-commerce.

"Kami melakukan yang terbaik yang kami bisa guna memenuhi permintaan para konsumen akan produk-produk kami untuk mengotimalkan kapasitas produksi dan rantai pasokan, terutama untuk produk susu Bear Brand," kata Debora dalam jawaban tertulis kepada Tempo, Sabtu, 3 Juli 2021.

Sebelumnya, video konsumen berebut susu Bear Brand viral di media sosial. Tagar Bear Brand pun menjadi topik terhangat nomor tujuh di Twitter pada Sabtu malam.

Harga susu ini di beberapa e-commerce pun terlihat melonjak. Harga satu kaleng Bear Brand di e-commerce bisa mencapai Rp 18 ribu, dari harga normal yang di bawah Rp 10 ribu.

Deborah says Nestle did not increase the price of Bear Brand milk. However, Nestle cannot determine the final selling price of products in e-commerce.

“What we can do is try our best to continue to supply Bear Brand dairy products in order to meet consumer demand,” he said.

According to Debora, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Nestlé Indonesia focused on meeting consumer demand. Nestle also ensures the continuity of the operations of their factories.

Besides Bear Brand, other Nestle products include Dancow milk and Milo chocolate malt drink.
