PT Nestlé Indonesia has opened its voice regarding the termination of employment (PHK) of its employees due to the efficiency program at the Kejayan Factory, Pasuruan, East Java. Previously it was reported that 126 Nestlé employees were laid off.
“Prior to implementing this program, we have communicated transparently to all employees, both affected and not, including communication with labor/worker unions. The company will continue to do its best to affected employees and ensure there is no disruption in its service to consumers and business partners in Indonesia.” said Nestlé Management in its statement, Tuesday (12/12/2023).
The company claims all employees understand the importance of this program. Meanwhile, the layoff process is almost complete, with almost all of the affected employees accepting the layoff offers offered favorably.
“In line with Nestlé Indonesia’s values which are rooted in respect, we are committed to treating every affected employee fairly and with respect. To this end, Management has offered a compensation package that is much higher than the industry average and is required legal regulations to employees affected by this business transformation,” he added.
Nestlé considers the solidarity actions that occur as normal in the dynamics of industrial relations. Nestlé invites all parties to always respect the process that is running in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Meanwhile, Nestlé Indonesia conducted a transformation and preparation session for affected employees. Later, various topics will be presented in the briefing session, including financial management knowledge, entrepreneurship, and motivational sessions, especially how to manage career transitions.
