Nestelbach near Graz can look back on over a thousand years of history – the name “Nezelinpah” was first mentioned in a document in 860 AD. Particularly worth seeing is the parish church, in which the picture “Maria-Schutz”, which was once found in nettles and gave its name to the place, can be admired. The region impresses with lush meadows, colorful orchards and numerous fish ponds that invite hikers and cyclists to linger. A 150-year-old chapel and a memorial to the musician Joseph Fux with a remarkable mosaic are also impressive sights in Nestelbach. The Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz proudly bears his name. That is also known beyond the borders Langegger Hoftheater!
