Nery Ramos: From directing the PNC to presiding over the Congress of the Republic

After taking office as president of the Congress of the republicCongressman Nery Ramos says that he will fight to honor the trust that the people of Guatemala have placed at the polls, promoting an agenda that guarantees the rule of law and legal certainty.

Ramos, who served as director of the PNC (2015 to 2018), began his speech by recognizing the political maturity of deputies Andrea Villagrán and Samuel Pérez. And the president of the legislature highlights his decision to step aside to make the national agreement viable.

The Blue party deputy has said that it is an honor to preside over this high State body, so they will fight with unity and always thinking about the people.

“Our governance agreement has been the result of an important process of multiparty dialogue, with a legislative agenda that represents the initiatives of democratic plurality, and is built on the firm will to respect the democratic system of our Republic,” points out.

Ramos has mentioned that he hopes that this day will be the end of the country’s dark period, so they now make the commitment to rebuild Guatemala.

“Fight against corruption, dialogue and reach consensus with all people, so that together we find the paths to inclusive and democratic development”adds the president of the legislature.
